HOPE
When thinking about this message for today, and the enormously complex and yet simple subject of “HOPE” I was reminded by God, through my spirit, to keep it simple. I was curious what scripture I should start with, because there are many scriptures that offer Hope, that speak about Hope, or involve Hope. The first place that God led me to, to share with you, each one of you – was
John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Because of the unfathomable sacrifice that Jesus Christ completed It is where all Hope begins, amen.
Because of what HE DID, we have Hope.
What is Hope?
According to Webster’s Dictionary – Hope. HOPE, noun [Latin cupio.] 1. A desire of some good, accompanied with at least a slight expectation of obtaining it, or a belief that something is obtainable. Hope differs from wish and desire in this, that it implies some expectation of obtaining the good desired, or the possibility of possessing it.
What does the Bible say that Hope is?
Bible hope is the confident expectation of what God has promised and its strength is in – His faithfulness.
Jeremiah 29:11
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
God wants you to know that HIS EVER LIVING WORD and HIS EVER FAITHFUL PROMISES – they ALWAYS APPLY. They apply today, and tomorrow, and the day after that, and are not based on where you have been, but available for you anytime of the day or night, right now. WE HAVE A CONTINUAL – HELP & HOPE – HOTLINE that never ever closes!
Song – 33:3 Just call home *based on Jeremiah 33:3 – You can call Him from a mansion, or driving in your car, – you can call Him from a prison, or a noisy corner bar – God Will Answer, any hour He’s standing by the phone, – you can call Him day or night – in a crowd or all alone – Just call home and He’ll answer, – just call home and you’ll be free, – just call home any hour – just call home –
“My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness” Hillsong Worship a familiar version
Was actually inspired a long time ago gifted through God to an author named Edward Mote (1797-1874)
I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus’ name. |
|
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand. |
Last part that I would like to share with you is –
“His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around – my soul gives way,
He then – is all my hope and stay.”
- Repeat with me –
Bible hope is the confident expectation – of what God has promised –and its strength – is in His faithfulness.
2 Timothy 1:7
7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
God is our direct power source that as we plug into HIS Power, we are able to have complete and full victory over each and every area of our lives, amen. We ARE NOT DEFINED BY THIS WORLD. But by our King of all Glory on High, amen. All of us have had hardships, trials, loss, sorrow, uncertainty. Some have endured deep, deep sorrow and unthinkable loss, a rock bottom —
John 16:33
33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Jesus is your bondage breaker. In His Name, you can break free from any chains that bind you – whether they’re chains of anxiety and fear… or alcohol and drugs… Sexual addictions… Anything – Anything that the enemy of our souls – has placed in your pathway, in order to lead you away from all that God has destined and in store for you and your life. The enemy IS A LIAR, AND A DECIEVER, He’s the accuser of the brethren AND SEEKS ONLY TO kill, rob, limit, destroy, and will work hard on telling you that you cannot be free of an addiction or some bondage that is keeping you in a sin pattern, and holding you a prisoner… But again – John 16:33 says — and Luke 10:19
I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
Listen – 1Peter 5:8 says Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
The enemy wants you to lose HOPE – BUT as a surrendered child of the Most High, Jesus Christ – our Risen Lord God King – we have been INFUSED with Hope, as we keep our eyes upon HIM who cares for us (1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.)
And so we – re-visit –
John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Because of the unfathomable sacrifice that Jesus Christ completed, because of what HE DID for us – that we could never, ever do for ourselves,
It is where all Hope begins – and will always remain, amen
Isaiah 9:6-7
6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty
will accomplish this.
Church remember,
We are joint heirs with the Living King whom- IS ALL HOPE, amen.. Romans 8:17
Now if we are children, then we are heirs–heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
The gift of JESUS CHRIST is the very gift of Hope, and has been extended to each one of us, this free gift. As a believer in Jesus Christ our very own –Hope – source –((is )) The King of Kings and Lord over all creation. We can count on our unfathomable God – ALL THE TIME. For the same God, who spoke the myriads of stars into being, who breathes life into dust, who has gone before us and is with us, and who is always for us, is the hope everlasting, that calls us friend, amen..
And now for the blessing:
Numbers 6:24-26
24 “‘“The Lord bless you
and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”’
Amen.
Dear friends we will talk again soon,
Have an amazing day in Jesus!
In Christ always,
Marty
