Isaiah 40:31 and a necklace medallion.

Isaiah 40:31 – But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

In 2015 there was a ferocious fire that tore through a restaurant and a number of apartments in that same building. The building was completely destroyed, praise be to God no human lives were lost. I was staying right next door to this place and had seen it burn.
A friend of mine gave me something that was from his friend’s now destroyed apartment. To the best of my knowledge only two things really survived in this person’s apartment. The one was a Bible that did not burn in his bedroom. The second was this necklace. The the heat from the fire that engulfed the building and that room, had to have been excessive and yet the Bible did not burn nor was this necklace lost to it. They both made it through the fire.

The Word of God is alive and is living and will never ever return back void. Yes, it is life-changing and life-sustaining, and we can do what it says that we can do. We can become what it says that we can become. I carry this necklace with me most days as a reminder; although the fire blazed all around it, it did not extinguish its message.

Dear Lord, help us to carry your Holy Word inside of us throughout all of our daily trials,  tests,  temptations and tribulations. May your Holy Word become literally etched inside of us. No matter what external pressure we are facing, may we choose to live and stand on Your Holy Word and not worldly shifting sand. As believers and worshippers of Jesus Christ, we have life giving, never changing assurance, that in Your Hands, we are safely held.
